AT&T Aargh.

Still waiting on the arrival of my pre-ordered iphone 4s to get this blog rolling. The camera and shot timer apps would have simplified matters, but I'm growing impatient. If it doesn't get here in a couple of days I'm borrowing a shot timer and a camera and hitting the range. I can feel the cobwebs collecting. Hopefully I can put in at least 100 rounds this week.

Current carry gun is still the USP, carried AIWB. This week's range time will be devoted primarily to the first double action shot. I'm thinking 3x5 index card walk-back drills and maybe a run of dot torture. Then we'll put it on the timer against an 8" circle and see where I'm at. This may finally make up my mind whether or not I want to keep working to master traditional double action, or convert to a LEM trigger.

An Introduction...

After much forethought and an average amount of procrastination, I have elected to start a blog. The purpose of what will likely prove a rambling, random collection of my thoughts and opinions, and hopefully some decent pictures of guns, is primarily to keep track of my individual progress as a pistol shooter, and give me the opportunity to provide whatever small knowledge I have gained to others, and to learn from the expertise of those more knowledgeable than myself.

I've shot rifles and shotguns most of my life, and I shoot them pretty well, but until I owned my first handgun, the only known example of a reliable Para-ordnance 1911, I had almost zero experience shooting handguns. From those early days of big-bore, single stack goodness, I have completely changed the way I shoot several times, tried different approaches and schools of thought of handgun shooting, and finally I'm starting to see some results.

Now, as soon as I have some free time, and finally get my much anticipated iPhone 4s, I'll get down to the nitty gritty, and start posting some things worth reading.

Current EDC: HK USP9 carried in a Custom Carry Concepts Shaggy AIWB on an Original S.O.E. Gear rigger's belt.

More to come.
